Rowbot Testing Rig


                                
                   
    The rowbot is a rig built from 80-20 t-slot channel which assesses the performance of rowing machines.



I designed this rig to row the machine as hard or harder than any human could, and load the rowing machines under test in a way similar to a human. Wooden block feet which I made strap in to the footstretchers as a human would. A rail system ensures that load travels directly in to the rower, rather than directing these forces through the mounting platform underneath. This rig is capable of outputs far in excess of human world records, and can sustain this super human pace for extended periods. It helped our team to characterize the high-end performance of our rowers, as well provide a platform for accellerated life testing.
